The Schneider MT63H2 MasterPact Circuit Breaker Frame is a high-capacity air circuit breaker frame associated with the MasterPact NW63H2 configuration. It is used in low-voltage power distribution systems requiring high current-carrying capacity and substantial short-circuit interruption performance.
The NW63H2 configuration has a rated current of 6300 A and belongs to the H2 breaking performance category. It provides a rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity of 150 kA at 440 V AC, making it suitable for large industrial distribution systems and high-capacity main feeder protection.
The MasterPact NW63H2 supports three-phase and four-pole distribution configurations, depending on the selected circuit breaker reference. Fixed and drawout mounting arrangements are also available, allowing the breaker to be integrated into different switchgear designs.
The circuit breaker is used in installations where the incoming electrical supply must be protected against overloads and short circuits. It can operate with compatible electronic protection units and electrical accessories to provide the required protection and switching functions.
For replacement applications, engineers should verify the complete NW63H2 configuration, including pole arrangement, mounting type, rated current, breaking capacity, neutral position, and control unit requirements.

The MasterPact NW63H2 operates as an air circuit breaker that controls the electrical connection between the incoming power supply and the downstream distribution system.
During normal operation, electrical current flows through the main contacts of the breaker to supply connected equipment. The contacts remain closed while the electrical conditions stay within the permitted operating limits.
When an overload or short circuit occurs, the associated electronic protection unit detects the abnormal current condition and initiates the tripping mechanism. The main contacts separate, interrupting the electrical circuit.
During contact separation, an electrical arc forms between the contacts. The air arc-extinguishing arrangement controls and extinguishes the arc, allowing the breaker to interrupt the fault current within its specified breaking capacity.
The H2 performance configuration provides a rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity of 150 kA at 440 V AC. At higher operating voltages, the specified breaking capacity changes according to the voltage rating.
Typical Protection Sequence:
Incoming Power Supply → MasterPact NW63H2 Circuit Breaker → Main Distribution Busbar → Downstream Feeder Circuits
After a fault interruption, the cause of the trip should be investigated before the breaker is reset and returned to service.
The MT63H2 serves as a main or feeder circuit protection component within compatible MasterPact NW63H2 low-voltage distribution systems.
In large industrial switchgear installations, the circuit breaker is positioned between the incoming electrical supply and the main distribution busbar. It provides switching and fault interruption functions for high-current electrical circuits.
Its 6300 A rated current and H2 interruption performance make it suitable for installations with substantial electrical loads and high prospective short-circuit currents.

The associated MasterPact NW63H2 configuration has a rated current of 6300 A at 40 °C. It is intended for high-capacity low-voltage distribution applications.
The H2 configuration provides 150 kA ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity at 440 V AC, 130 kA at 525 V AC, and 100 kA at 690 V AC.
The fixed configuration is installed directly into the switchgear assembly. The drawout configuration uses a withdrawable mounting arrangement that allows the breaker to move between connected, test, and disconnected positions. The selected arrangement must match the switchgear design.
The specified configuration is without a control unit. A compatible Micrologic protection unit must be selected according to the required overload, short-circuit, and other protection functions.
