The PR6423/014-030 serves as the sensing element installed close to the monitored conductive target. The CON021 signal converter handles the associated sensor signal, forming the electronic interface between the probe and the downstream machinery monitoring equipment.
This arrangement is useful on turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, and other machines where the sensing point is located at the mechanical equipment while signal-processing electronics are connected within the instrumentation or control system. The PR6423/014-030 detects changes in the distance between its sensing head and a conductive target using an eddy current measurement principle. When the target moves relative to the probe, the electrical response of the sensing circuit changes.
