The Schneider TSXDSY64T2K Modicon Premium Discrete Output Module provides 64 protected transistor output channels for compatible Modicon Premium PLC systems. It is intended for control panels that need to switch numerous low-current DC signals, such as machine indicators, interface circuits and compatible electronic control devices, from a centralized PLC application.
The module uses 24 V DC positive-logic outputs, with an operating voltage range of 19–30 V DC. Each channel is rated at 0.1 A, while the maximum current for the complete module is 5 A. These ratings make it important to consider both individual load requirements and the combined current when multiple outputs are active.
Four HE-10 connectors provide the field connection interface. The output circuits include transil-diode overvoltage protection, reverse-polarity protection, and automatic overload and short-circuit tripping. When integrating the module into a machine, engineers should verify connector pin assignments, supply wiring, output load characteristics and the distribution of current across all 64 channels.

The TSXDSY64T2K receives output commands from the Modicon Premium PLC through the system backplane. When a channel is commanded ON, its transistor output switches the corresponding 24 V DC circuit according to the module’s positive-logic arrangement. When the command is removed, the channel returns to its OFF state, subject to the specified residual voltage and leakage current.
Each channel is rated at 0.1 A, and the maximum current for the entire module is 5 A. These limits must be considered together. A design that satisfies the current limit of every individual channel can still exceed the total module rating if too many loads operate simultaneously.
The module’s protection functions address several types of electrical fault. The transil diode helps limit output overvoltage, while the reverse-mounted diode provides reverse-polarity protection. Overload and short-circuit conditions can trigger automatic tripping. Before restoring an affected output, technicians should identify and remove the underlying fault and follow the applicable system procedure.
The four HE-10 connectors carry grouped output signals to the field circuits. During commissioning, each channel should be tested against the electrical drawings and PLC address assignments. If a connected device fails to switch, check the PLC command, 24 V DC supply, connector pinout, load impedance and output protection status before replacing the module.
The TSXDSY64T2K acts as the discrete DC output interface between a Modicon Premium PLC and external control circuits. The PLC program processes operating conditions and sends output commands, while the module converts those commands into electrical switching states for compatible field loads.
Its 64-channel configuration is useful in installations with many low-current control signals. The output module does not independently determine machine sequences; its operation depends on the PLC application, the field supply, the connected loads and the configured output addresses.

The 5 A rating applies to the module as a whole, not to each channel. Each channel is rated at 0.1 A, so the system designer must calculate the combined current of the loads that can be active at the same time and ensure that the module’s total current limit is not exceeded.
Check the connected load for excessive current, short circuits, wiring errors and reverse polarity. Also verify the supply voltage and the load’s electrical condition. Do not repeatedly reactivate a channel without first identifying and correcting the cause of the trip.
A load drawing more than the 0.1 A channel rating should not be connected directly as a normal operating arrangement. An appropriately rated interface relay or electronic driver may be needed, provided the interface input is compatible with the module’s output characteristics.
The BMXDDO6402K belongs to the Modicon X80 platform, so the migration requires checking more than output count. Verify controller and rack compatibility, wiring and connector arrangements, channel addressing, electrical ratings and the PLC configuration before commissioning the replacement.
