The STBDDO3410 receives output commands from the controller through the STB island communication path and switches the corresponding output channels according to the commanded states.
A typical signal path is:
PLC / PAC → Network Interface Module → STB Island Bus → STBDDO3410 → Field Actuator
When the PLC or PAC changes an output state, the network interface module transfers the command to the STB island. The STBDDO3410 interprets the assigned output data and changes the corresponding channel state.
The resulting discrete signal can energize or de-energize a compatible field device. In a machine sequence, this may correspond to starting a control relay, actuating a solenoid valve, switching an indicator, or commanding another discrete actuator.
