The Schneider STBACI1400 Modicon STB Standard Analog Input Module is an analog signal acquisition module for the Modicon STB distributed I/O platform. It provides an interface between compatible field instrumentation and the STB I/O island, allowing continuously varying process signals to be brought into the automation system.
The module is useful in distributed control installations where measurement devices are positioned close to machines, process equipment, or remote instrumentation points. Local signal acquisition reduces the need for individual analog wiring to a centralized PLC location and keeps field connections organized around the STB island.
Typical uses include acquiring process measurements from compatible transmitters and sensors for temperature, pressure, level, flow, and other analog variables. Once acquired, the measurement data can be exchanged through the STB network interface and processed by the associated controller.
During commissioning, the STBACI1400 can be checked as one stage of the complete measurement chain. The STBACI1400 receives an analog electrical signal from a connected field instrument and converts the acquired information into data that can be handled by the Modicon STB system.

The field instrument generates a continuously varying signal representing a physical process condition. The STBACI1400 acquires that signal and makes the resulting input information available through the distributed I/O architecture.
The controller can use the acquired value for process regulation, monitoring, sequencing, alarm generation, trending, or HMI visualization. The module performs the input acquisition function, while application logic determines what action should be taken based on the measured value.
When an analog value appears incorrect, the measurement path should be checked from the field instrument through the wiring and STB input channel to the controller. This approach helps identify whether the problem is located at the instrument, field wiring, I/O configuration, network, or application level.
The STBACI1400 occupies the analog signal acquisition layer within a Modicon STB distributed I/O island. It connects field-level analog instrumentation with the networked automation controller.

The module should be installed as part of a compatible STB island together with the required terminal, power, network, and controller infrastructure. The field instrument and input channel configuration should be verified before commissioning.
Compare the electrical signal produced by the field instrument with the value acquired by the STBACI1400. If the field signal is correct but the received value is incorrect, inspect the input wiring, channel configuration, module, network path, and controller scaling.
The field signal may be transmitted correctly while the I/O channel or application interprets it incorrectly. Channel assignment, configuration, scaling, grounding, communication, or controller-side data handling should therefore be checked when the raw field condition and displayed value do not agree.
Record the module location, channel assignment, connected instrument, field wiring, STB configuration, and controller data mapping. After replacement, verify the same signal path and confirm that the expected process value reaches the controller and HMI.
