The ABB CA5-01 1SBN010010R1001 Auxiliary Contact Block is an auxiliary contact accessory for compatible ABB contactors and switching devices. It adds an auxiliary switching contact that can be used for contactor status feedback, electrical interlocking, control sequencing, and indication circuits.
The CA5-01 configuration uses a normally closed auxiliary contact. Its contact state changes with the mechanical operation of the associated contactor, allowing the control circuit to detect changes in contactor status without switching the main load current through the auxiliary device.
This accessory is useful in motor starters, machine control panels, industrial automation systems, pump controls, HVAC equipment, and other contactor-based control circuits.

The CA5-01 auxiliary contact block follows the mechanical state of the associated contactor.
In its normal condition, the normally closed auxiliary contact remains closed, allowing current to pass through the auxiliary control circuit. When the contactor operates, the mechanical actuator changes the auxiliary contact position and opens the normally closed circuit.
This change can be used by a PLC input, relay circuit, indicator, or interlocking circuit to determine the operating state of the contactor.
The auxiliary contact is intended for control and signaling rather than for carrying the main motor or equipment load.

It adds a normally closed auxiliary contact to a compatible ABB contactor for control, signaling, status feedback, or electrical interlocking applications.
The normally closed auxiliary contact changes state when the associated contactor operates, opening the auxiliary circuit and allowing the control system to detect the contactor’s operating condition.
Yes. When the electrical ratings and control circuit requirements are suitable, the auxiliary contact can be connected to a PLC digital input to provide contactor status feedback.
Check the accessory mounting, mechanical engagement with the contactor, terminal wiring, contact mechanism, and the operating condition of the associated contactor. If the mechanical movement is normal but the contact state does not change, the auxiliary contact should be inspected for damage or wear.
