The Schneider STBDDO3600 Modicon STB Standard Digital Output Module is a discrete output module for Modicon STB distributed I/O systems. It converts control commands from the STB network and logic system into discrete electrical outputs for field devices.
In a typical installation, the module sits between the STB network interface and loads such as contactors, relays, solenoid valves, indicators, and other on/off actuators. The controller determines the required output state, while the STB I/O system transfers that command to the STBDDO3600, which switches the corresponding field output.
The module is intended for distributed control cabinets where field output wiring needs to be located close to the controlled equipment. Its compact STB format also allows output channels to be combined with other digital and analog I/O modules on the same island.

The STBDDO3600 receives output commands through the Modicon STB island architecture. When the controller changes an output state, the network interface transfers the corresponding command to the digital output module.
The module then switches the associated output channel according to the commanded state. The resulting field signal can energize or de-energize a connected actuator, relay, contactor, indicator, or solenoid.
For troubleshooting, the signal path should be followed from the controller through the STB network interface and module to the field device. A missing output may result from control logic, network communication, module configuration, field wiring, load-side power, or the output channel itself.
| System Element | Function |
|---|---|
| PLC / Controller | Executes application logic and determines output states |
| STB Network Interface Module | Connects the STB island with the controller or fieldbus network |
| STBDDO3600 | Converts digital commands into discrete field outputs |
| STB Terminal Base | Provides the physical electrical connection between the module and field wiring |
| Field Power Supply | Supplies the required field-side power for connected loads |
| Actuators | Respond to the digital output commands |
| Sensors / Inputs | Provide process status back to the control system |
| HMI / SCADA | Provides operator monitoring and control |
The STBDDO3600 occupies the output layer of the STB distributed I/O architecture. It does not make independent process-control decisions; output states are determined by the controller and system configuration.

The module can be used in applications involving discrete loads such as relays, contactors, solenoid valves, indicators, and other compatible on/off actuators. The connected load must meet the applicable electrical requirements of the output circuit.
No. The module provides the physical digital output interface. Output states are determined by the PLC or controller through the Modicon STB network and configured I/O architecture.
A correct commanded output does not necessarily mean that the load is receiving the required electrical power. Check the field power supply, terminal connections, wiring, fuses or protection devices, load condition, and actuator itself.
When several outputs or several STB modules are affected simultaneously, check the STB network interface, island power, common field power, configuration, and communication path before replacing the individual output module. A common upstream problem can affect multiple channels at once.
