The Epro PR6424/000-121+CON031 16mm Eddy Current Sensor+Eddy Current Signal Converter combines a PR6424 series eddy current sensor with a CON031 signal converter for non-contact rotating machinery measurement. The sensor detects changes in the distance between the probe and a conductive target, while the converter conditions the sensor signal for the connected monitoring electronics.
This combination is intended for measurement points where shaft displacement, shaft position, or other mechanical movement must be monitored without contacting the rotating component. It can be used on steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, and other rotating equipment.
The sensor and converter form a complete measurement channel from the machinery shaft to the monitoring system. The conditioned signal can be evaluated for machinery condition monitoring, alarm functions, and protective actions.

The PR6424/000-121 sensor generates an electromagnetic field at the probe tip. When positioned near a conductive target, the electrical response of the sensing circuit changes according to the distance between the sensor and target.
Movement of the monitored shaft changes this measurement gap. The resulting sensor signal is transmitted to the CON031 signal converter, where it is conditioned for use by the downstream monitoring electronics.
A typical measurement path is:
Rotating Shaft → PR6424/000-121 Sensor → CON031 Signal Converter → Machinery Monitoring System → Alarm / Protection
Stable mechanical mounting and correct probe positioning are essential because changes in the measurement gap directly affect the sensor signal.

The combination provides a non-contact measurement channel for detecting displacement or position changes of a conductive machinery target and conditioning the resulting signal for monitoring electronics.
The CON031 receives the eddy current sensor signal and conditions it for use by the associated machinery monitoring system.
It can be applied to rotating machinery such as steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, gearboxes, and turboexpanders where shaft movement needs to be monitored.
Check the sensor mounting, probe-to-target position, cable connections, CON031 connections, and monitoring electronics. The actual machinery operating condition should also be reviewed to determine whether the signal variation is caused by mechanical movement or an instrumentation issue.
