The Epro PR6423/10R-111+CON031 combines an 8 mm PR6423 eddy current sensor with a CON031 signal converter to form a complete sensing and signal-conditioning channel for rotating machinery monitoring. The sensor measures relative movement between the probe and a conductive shaft or target without physical contact.
The PR6423/10R-111 sensor is installed close to the monitored mechanical target, while the CON031 handles the signal-conditioning stage between the sensor and the downstream monitoring equipment. This arrangement is suitable for applications where shaft displacement, axial position, radial movement, or vibration-related motion needs to be transferred into a usable monitoring signal.
The combined configuration is useful on turbines, compressors, generators, motors, pumps, and other rotating equipment. Keeping the sensor and converter as a defined combination also simplifies identification of the intended measurement channel when maintaining an existing Epro monitoring installation.
Measurement performance depends on more than the probe itself. Probe alignment, target material and surface condition, installation gap, mechanical stability, cable condition, converter operation, and receiving-system compatibility should all be considered when commissioning or troubleshooting the channel.

The PR6423/10R-111 sensor generates an electromagnetic field around the sensing area. When a conductive shaft or target moves relative to the probe, the eddy current response changes according to the distance between the sensor and target.
The resulting sensor signal is passed to the CON031 signal converter, which performs the associated signal-conditioning function before the measurement reaches the monitoring system. The downstream equipment can then use the conditioned signal to evaluate shaft position, displacement, or vibration-related movement.
Conductive Shaft / Target → PR6423/10R-111 Sensor → CON031 Signal Converter → Monitoring Input → Machinery Monitoring System → Alarm / Protection
The measurement channel depends on the mechanical and electrical relationship between all stages. Incorrect probe positioning, unstable mounting, unsuitable target conditions, damaged cabling, converter faults, or an incompatible monitoring input can all produce abnormal measurement behavior.
The PR6423/10R-111+CON031 occupies the field sensing and signal-conditioning portion of an Epro eddy current monitoring system. The PR6423 sensor establishes the non-contact measurement point, while the CON031 prepares the resulting signal for the receiving monitoring equipment.
Rotating Shaft → PR6423/10R-111 → CON031 → Monitoring Input → Machinery Monitoring System → Alarm / Protection
| System Element | Function |
|---|---|
| Rotating Shaft / Target | Provides the conductive surface being monitored |
| PR6423/10R-111 | Detects changes in target-to-probe distance |

The combination establishes both the non-contact sensing stage and the associated signal-conditioning stage as one defined measurement channel. This can simplify installation and maintenance when the receiving monitoring equipment is matched to the complete configuration.
The probe must be mounted so that its sensing relationship with the conductive target remains within the applicable measurement requirements. Alignment, mechanical stability, target surface condition, and the required probe-to-target relationship should all be checked during commissioning.
An unstable signal can result from probe movement, incorrect target relationship, damaged or poorly connected cabling, converter problems, electrical interference, or an issue at the receiving monitoring input. The complete measurement chain should be checked before replacing the sensor.
Independent substitution should only be made after confirming the compatibility of the replacement components with the existing measurement architecture. The sensor configuration, converter type, cable arrangement, and downstream monitoring input should be considered as one complete channel.
