The PR6423/014-121 sensor detects changes in the distance between its sensing head and a conductive target through an eddy current sensing principle. Relative movement of the monitored shaft changes the electrical response of the probe circuit.
The CON031 Eddy Current Signal Converter receives the sensor signal and conditions it for use by downstream monitoring equipment. This allows the relatively small sensing response from the probe to be converted into a practical measurement signal for machinery monitoring.
