The Epro PR6423/011-100+CON021 8mm Eddy Current Sensor+Eddy Current Signal Converter combines an 8 mm eddy current sensor with a compatible signal-conditioning converter to form a measurement chain for rotating machinery. The sensor detects changes in the distance between its probe tip and a conductive machine target, while the converter conditions the resulting signal for use by monitoring and protection equipment.
The PR6423/011-100 is used as the sensing element positioned toward the machine shaft or another conductive target. Because the measurement is non-contact, the sensor can monitor rotating components without mechanical contact between the probe and the monitored surface.
The CON021 handles the interface between the probe and the downstream monitoring system. This arrangement is useful where shaft displacement, position, eccentricity, or vibration-related movement needs to be converted into an electrical signal suitable for machinery monitoring.
The complete combination is particularly relevant to turbine, compressor, pump, generator, and other rotating-equipment installations. The PR6423/011-100 detects changes in the electromagnetic field caused by movement of a conductive target. The resulting sensor response is transferred to the CON021 for signal conditioning before reaching the machinery monitoring system.
