The Epro PR6424/000-130+CON021/914-080 16mm Eddy Current Sensor+Eddy Current Signal Converter is a combined proximity measurement assembly consisting of an eddy-current sensor and its associated signal converter. It is used to detect non-contact displacement or position changes of conductive targets in rotating machinery monitoring applications.
The PR6424/000-130 sensor is installed close to the monitored machine target, typically a rotating shaft or another conductive surface. The CON021/914-080 signal converter conditions the sensor signal so that the measured proximity information can be transferred to the downstream machinery monitoring system.
This sensor-and-converter arrangement is useful in machinery protection systems where the probe signal needs to be conditioned before reaching the monitoring electronics. Typical applications include turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, and other rotating equipment where shaft movement must be continuously observed.
For maintenance engineers, the complete assembly should be treated as a measurement channel rather than as two unrelated components. Sensor installation, probe positioning, cable connections, converter compatibility, and the downstream monitoring input all affect the final measurement.

The PR6424/000-130 sensor generates an electromagnetic field near the monitored conductive target. Changes in the distance between the probe and target alter the sensor response. The resulting electrical signal is transferred to the CON021/914-080 signal converter for conditioning.
A simplified measurement path is:
Rotating Shaft / Conductive Target → PR6424/000-130 Sensor → CON021/914-080 Signal Converter → Machinery Monitoring System → Protection / Control System
The converter prepares the probe signal for use by the monitoring system. Depending on the configured monitoring architecture, the resulting measurement can be used to observe shaft position, displacement, or other mechanical movement represented by the proximity signal.
Correct probe installation remains critical even when the converter is functioning normally. Changes in the probe-to-target relationship, target surface condition, cable integrity, or mechanical mounting can produce changes in the measured signal.
The combined assembly occupies the sensing and signal-conditioning portion of the machinery monitoring chain:
Machine Shaft → PR6424/000-130 → CON021/914-080 → Monitoring System → Protection / Control System
| System Element | Function |

The assembly detects changes in the distance between the PR6424 sensor and a conductive machine target. In rotating machinery applications, the resulting measurement can be used to monitor shaft-related displacement or position.
The CON021/914-080 serves as the signal-conditioning portion of the measurement channel. It processes the signal from the PR6424 sensor so that the resulting proximity information can be used by the downstream monitoring system.
The sensor generates the proximity measurement while the converter conditions that signal. A problem in either part can affect the complete measurement channel, so troubleshooting should consider the probe, converter, connections, and monitoring input as one signal path.
Check the probe-to-target relationship, sensor mounting, target surface, cable connections, converter operation, and monitored machine condition. Mechanical movement of the probe or changes in the target can also affect the measurement.
