The Epro PR6423/010-110 is an 8 mm eddy current sensor used for non-contact measurement of shaft displacement and movement in rotating machinery. It serves as the field sensing element in a proximity measurement channel, detecting changes in the distance between the sensor head and a conductive machine target.
The sensor is installed close to the monitored shaft, commonly at a bearing or other defined measurement position. As the shaft moves during operation, the gap between the sensing head and the target surface changes. The eddy current sensing circuit responds to this variation and generates the corresponding measurement signal.
This type of measurement is useful on turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, motors, and other rotating equipment where shaft movement must be monitored continuously. Since the sensing principle does not require physical contact with the rotating component, the sensor can monitor shaft behavior while the machine remains in operation.
The PR6423/010-110 is normally connected to compatible signal-conditioning or monitoring electronics. The complete measurement channel can then be used for shaft vibration, relative displacement, and position monitoring within a machinery condition monitoring or protection system.

The PR6423/010-110 uses an electromagnetic sensing field to detect changes in the distance between the sensor head and a conductive target. Eddy currents are induced in the target surface, and the electrical response varies as the target moves closer to or farther from the sensor.
When installed near a rotating shaft, radial vibration or axial movement changes the probe-to-target gap. Associated electronics process the sensing response and convert the change into usable displacement information for the machinery monitoring system.
Rotating Shaft → PR6423/010-110 Sensor → Signal Conditioning Electronics → Machinery Monitoring System → Alarm / Protection
The resulting measurement can be used for:
The sensor mounting must remain stable because movement of the sensor itself can affect the measured gap.
The PR6423/010-110 provides the field-level measurement at the rotating machine. It detects physical movement of the shaft and passes the resulting sensing signal to the associated interface electronics for processing.

It is used to detect changes in the distance between the sensor and a conductive rotating target, allowing relative shaft displacement and vibration-related movement to be monitored.
The sensing method measures the target without requiring physical contact. This allows the sensor to remain stationary while monitoring the movement of a rotating shaft.
It is installed at a defined measurement location close to the rotating shaft, such as a bearing or another suitable point for monitoring relative shaft movement.
Check the sensor mounting, probe-to-target gap, cable connections, signal-conditioning electronics, and downstream monitoring channel. Mechanical movement of the sensor mounting should also be checked because it can influence the measured displacement.
