The Epro PR6423/010-100-CN is an 8 mm eddy current sensor for non-contact measurement of shaft movement in rotating machinery. It is used at measurement points where the relative position between a stationary sensor and a rotating conductive target needs to be monitored continuously.
The sensor is installed near the monitored shaft, typically around bearing assemblies or other defined measurement locations. As the shaft moves radially or axially, the distance between the target surface and sensor head changes, producing a corresponding variation in the eddy current sensing response.
For turbine, compressor, pump, generator, and motor applications, this type of sensor can be used to monitor shaft vibration, relative displacement, and positional changes. Because the sensing method does not require physical contact with the rotating component, the sensor can remain installed while the machine operates.

The PR6423/010-100-CN generates an electromagnetic sensing field around the probe tip. When the conductive shaft or target enters this field, eddy currents are induced in the target. The electrical response changes as the distance between the sensor and target changes.
During machine operation, radial shaft vibration or axial movement produces variations in this gap. The associated electronics process the sensor response and convert it into a measurement signal representing the mechanical movement.
