The ABB Bailey NTDO02 Infi 90 Digital Output Termination Unit is a field-wiring interface used to connect digital output circuits from an ABB Bailey Infi 90 control system to external plant equipment. It provides a dedicated termination point between the active I/O electronics and discrete field devices.
Digital output circuits are commonly used for commands such as valve actuation, relay energization, motor start/stop signals, alarm outputs, and equipment interlocks. The NTDO02 organizes these field connections so that output signals from the control system can be routed to the appropriate external circuits.

The NTDO02 provides the physical connection between the digital output channels of the Infi 90 I/O system and the external field circuits. A control command generated by the controller is processed by the associated I/O electronics and then transferred through the termination arrangement to the connected field device.

When an output channel changes state, the corresponding electrical condition is presented through the NTDO02 termination point. The connected field equipment then responds according to its own electrical and control characteristics.
The NTDO02 does not determine when an output should operate. It maintains the physical signal path between the active I/O circuitry and field wiring. A problem at the termination point can therefore appear as a failed output even though the controller and I/O logic are functioning correctly.
The NTDO02 occupies the field termination layer of an Infi 90 digital output system. It sits between the active digital output electronics and the plant wiring used by external discrete devices.

The NTDO02 is a field termination unit, while the digital output module performs the active I/O function. The controller and I/O module determine the output state, and the NTDO02 provides the physical interface to the field wiring.
