The Schneider STBXBE1300 Modicon STB BOS Internal Bus Extension Module is used on the beginning side of an extended Modicon STB island segment. It provides the BOS (Beginning Of Segment) interface for continuing the STB internal bus to an additional group of I/O modules.
This arrangement is useful when an STB installation needs to distribute modules into separate physical groups rather than placing every module in one continuous assembly. A second I/O group can be positioned closer to the relevant machine section or field devices while remaining part of the same overall STB architecture.
The STBXBE1300 is an interconnection component rather than an I/O processing module. In practical commissioning, its operation depends on the corresponding EOS-side module, extension connection, downstream STB modules, and the overall island configuration. If an extended segment is unavailable, these elements should be checked together.

The STBXBE1300 is installed at the BOS (Beginning Of Segment) side of the extended STB module group. It receives the internal bus connection from the preceding STB segment through the appropriate extension arrangement.
Once the extension is correctly connected, the downstream STB modules can remain part of the same island architecture. The module itself does not execute control logic or process field signals; its purpose is to maintain the internal bus connection into the additional segment.
When a downstream segment cannot communicate with the controller, the STBXBE1300 should be checked together with the extension connection, upstream EOS interface, downstream STB modules, and segment power. This approach helps distinguish an internal-bus problem from an individual I/O module fault.

BOS means Beginning Of Segment. The STBXBE1300 is used at the beginning of an extended STB module segment as part of the internal bus extension architecture.
The two modules serve different positions in the extension arrangement. STBXBE1300 provides the BOS-side interface, while STBXBE1100 is used for the EOS-side interface.
Check the upstream EOS interface, extension connection, STBXBE1300 seating, power to the downstream segment, and the physical and configured STB architecture. If the entire segment is affected, inspect the common internal bus path before replacing individual I/O modules.
No. The STBXBE1300 is an internal bus extension module. Digital and analog signal processing is performed by the corresponding STB I/O modules installed in the extended segment.
