Product Description

The PR6423/10R‑010‑CN employs a precision‑ground 8 mm sensing tip and a hermetically sealed, mineral‑insulated cable to ensure long‑term stability in hostile environments that expose equipment to oil splash, steam, process gases and vibration.

Inside the probe a coil generates a high‑frequency electromagnetic field. Eddy currents induced in the shaft attenuate this field in proportion to the gap distance. The resulting impedance change is converted by the proximitor to a calibrated voltage, yielding nanometre‑level resolution without physical contact or wear.

Typical shaft materials—carbon steel, stainless steel or Inconel—maintain calibration constants that are stored in the sensor’s built‑in identification resistor. This plug‑and‑play concept facilitates rapid field replacement and eliminates the need for time‑consuming recalibration.
